Where is Christine Ann moving?

Christine Ann is moving to the Beach Building (240 Algoma Blvd, Oshkosh, WI). This is conveniently right across the parking lot from our current facility!

Why is Christine Ann moving?

Sadly, domestic violence is at an all-time high. In each of the last 4 years, we have lost about 100 lives to domestic violence statewide. WI is now 8th in the nation for domestic violence homicide.

Safe shelter and supportive services can save lives, prevent injury, and minimize trauma. But our current facility has limitations that result in us turning away 50+ individuals from shelter each year.

Safety: Our shelter is comprised of two separate buildings, posing a safety risk when clients have to go from one building to the other (we’re also on a corner with high street exposure).
Large families: Only 3 of our 10 bedrooms can sleep 5 or more. The inability to accommodate large family sizes is the #1 reason we turn away from shelter.
Accessibility: Only 3 of our 10 bedrooms are ADA accessible.
Pets: Due to communal living, we cannot currently accept pets. About 50% of survivors will not enter the shelter if they cannot bring their pet (PALS Report, 2021).

While we are proud of how we have served thousands of survivors over the last 30 years, we know we can – and must – do better.

In-kind donations: See our Walmart and Amazon wish lists below to purchase items needed to stock our Emergency Shelter and Transitional Housing units.
Volunteer: We need help with cleaning, assembling furniture, painting, stocking storage areas, and more. Email Anise at anise@christineann.net for individual or group opportunities!
